Companies need to identify potential applicants as early as possible – and build the loyalty of the most suitable staff members as fast as they can. For their part, applicants like to gain a quick impression of what a company offers as well as of its corporate culture; they value clear communication that takes account of modern user behaviour. Applicants increasingly communicate on the move: they want to call up job profiles in condensed form on smartphones and tablets and make fast decisions on whether a particular company’s culture meets their own expectations. Organisations can now use a company-specific app to specify the key points of a training course or position in a few steps. In a couple of clicks, meanwhile, candidates can familiarise themselves with the tasks, requirements and the inner workings of a company – and get a response just as quickly. In other words, new standards of infotainment and recruitainment are being set. Information on the status of an application can be called up instantly, while establishing personal contact with the responsible HR office is similarly straightforward. The app also enables apprentices and trainees who are due to join a company in six or 12 months to become part of that company before actually starting work; it can, for instance, provide regular news, support know-how transfers (gamification or joy of use) and create a communication platform for exchanges with other staff members.
